How Do I Add or Edit SMS Templates in Keystone?

Learn how to efficiently add and edit SMS templates in Keystone as an admin with this tutorial. Customizing SMS templates helps streamline communication and maintain a consistent message for your clients.

Click the gear icon in the top right corner of Keystone to access Settings.


Scroll down to Notifications, then select SMS Templates.

To add a new SMS template, click on “New Template” in the upper right-hand corner.

Enter a Template Name (for internal use only, limited to 25 characters).

In the Template field, enter the message text you’d like to send. You can use variables in your SMS template to automatically populate information from the order, such as inspection address & time.



💡 Keep in mind that variables take up space, so leave room in your message for the values that will populate. 

A character counter appears at the bottom of the text box. Click on it to see a detailed breakdown of how SMS character limits work. 

Character Limits:

  • SMS templates must be under 320 characters. Messages longer than this may not be sent.
  • Messages over 150 characters may be split into multiple text messages when sent.
